On February 4, 2017 The Anaheim White House restaurant, a landmark in the city, was severely damaged in a fire. Despite the fire, owner and philanthropist Bruno Serato vowed to continue his charitable work of serving 2,000 free meals a day to needy children. Today, CATERINA’S CLUB is up and running stronger than ever.

OneOC is proud of the work Caterina's Club continues to do in Orange County. As a former fiscally sponsored project with OneOC, Caterina's Club has grown tremendously as their are now operating as their own independent 501c3 charity.
OneOC greatly values the relationship we have with Caterina's Club, and are grateful for their kind words and continued partnership:
"Caterina's Club was founded in 2005 by Chef Bruno Serato, owner of the Anaheim White House restaurant, with a mission of providing nightly meals and housing assistance to Orange County's homeless motel families. For many years, Caterina's Club functioned as the chef's hobby, and was supported by his devoted patrons. Being a chef by trade, Mr. Serato was unsure of the next steps to grow his mission and needed expert guidance to obtain 501(c)(3) status.
In 2013, Bruno and his team found OneOC and became a fiscally sponsored project. At the time, he was serving almost 1,000 children every single night. The OneOC staff worked closely with the Caterina's Club staff to implement the processes and procedures necessary for 501(c)(3) compliance and longterm growth. From board development, to financial reporting, to ethical codes of conduct- OneOC offered it all. Their comprehensive services enabled us to build a strong foundation for our organization to make great impact in the community. During our time as a fiscal project, we were able to approach large foundations and corporations for the support we needed to sustain and grow our programs, where we had not been able to before. In just under two years, our organization grew nearly 50%. Today, Caterina's Club now serves 2,050 individuals a night, has housed 121 families, and provides job training for 60 at-risk teens each year.
Though the process of disengaging from OneOC and becoming an independent 501(c)(3) was smooth and successful, Caterina's Club continues to rely on the expertise of OneOC. The OneOC staff continues to check in on us as well as connect us with nonprofit partners. Our staff members also continue to benefit hugely from their trainings including Branding and Marketing, Board Development, and Advanced Grant Writing Workshop. OneOC was instrumental in developing our talent. Much of our success in remedying hunger and homelessness, we owe to them."
