OneOC Honors the Legacy of Volunteer Work at the

43rd Annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards Presented by Experian

Hundreds of volunteers to be honored at annual event on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Disneyland Hotel

Anaheim, Calif., April 19, 2019 – On April 24, 2019, 1,000 people are anticipated to join together at OneOC’s 43rd annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards luncheon, Orange County’s largest and longest-running volunteer recognition event. The event celebrates hundreds of volunteers honored by over 100 organizations in Orange County for the work they generously contribute to our local community.

Experian will present this OneOC event, followed by significant contributors such as Antis Roofing & Waterproofing, Cox Communications, Disneyland Resort, Pacific Life, PIMCO, DPR Construction, Edwards Lifesciences, Taco Bell, Wells Fargo, among others.

“Volunteerism plays a key role in shaping our community and creating a better tomorrow,” said Craig Boundy, chief executive officer at Experian North America. “This annual forum provides a wonderful opportunity to recognize individual, group and corporate team volunteers, including our own Experian employees, for dedicated service to the communities where we live and work.”

“The Spirit of Volunteerism Awards has been applauding our community volunteers for 43 years,” said OneOC’s president and CEO Tim Strauch.  “The legacy of volunteer work is truly what makes Orange County special and shows how “together” we can achieve greater community impact. We honor and thank the individuals being honored at the event for being a part of the WE.”

The Spirit of Volunteerism Awards is also the venue where the prestigious Giving is Living Award, which recognizes an outstanding nonprofit/company partnership in the community, will be presented.  Out of the 15 submitted nonprofit/company partnership nominations, OneOC will present the 2019 award to Families Forward and Marx | Okubo, whose collaboration has helped address the need of homelessness and affordable housing in Orange County.

Last year, thanks to the generous supporters of the 2018 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards, OneOC was able to mobilize more than 22,937 individuals, delivering 626,018 hours to Orange County nonprofits valued at $18.2 million to our community.
